My parents are both from Beijing, China, and I spent my childhood in China and the United Kingdom. I grew up speaking Mandarin and English. I also speak some (very rusty) French that I learned during middle school and when I lived in Switzerland. I am happy to chat about research (and anything, really) in either Mandarin or English 😄.

My maternal grandfather (his Baidu Scholar page) was a research scientist in the Aerospace Biomedical Engineering Laboratory in Beijing, affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who worked on the Shenzhou space exploration programme and trained the first Chinese astronauts (he was always a huge role model for me!). When I was 13, I went to the United Kingdom to study at Uppingham School, and then attended Imperial College London and EPFL for my undergraduate. At Imperial, I had the pleasure of befriending talented engineers and scientists such as Mike Chen, Ruiao Hu, Hitesh Kumar and Xing Liu.

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and eating Asian food, reading about history, listening to Mandopop and visiting other countries. I like spending (wasting) my time watching videos on Youtube and Xiaohongshu, one of the most popular Chinese social media apps alongside Douyin/TikTok.
